Languages नेपाली

In Sikkim and the Darjeeling hills, "tapai" comes first.

Newer languageTest before you rely on it

Nepali is still new on our platform and awaits more real-call checks. Try it on your own list, with a native speaker listening.

Standard, PremiumWhere you can use it

Nepali is available on Standard and Premium voices. There is no ready-made template yet, so you write the script.

TapaiThe respectful form

Use "tapai" with customers. Words like "timi" are for friends, and do not belong on a business call.

Why Nepali matters

The hills are easy to overlook, and easy to reach in Nepali

Sikkim and the Darjeeling hills use Nepali every day. A call made in Nepali is a clear sign that a business has thought about these customers.

Sikkim

Nepali is a common language here

People from different communities in Sikkim and the Darjeeling hills often use Nepali with each other. It is a natural choice for a business call there.

Indian Nepali

Write for India, not for Kathmandu

A script from Nepal may use different words for money, offices and places. Use rupees, Indian dates and the terms your customers know.

Short lines

Keep it simple

Short, clear sentences are easier to check and easier to follow on a hill network. Say why you are calling, then ask if now is a good time.

How the agent soundsनमस्ते। तपाईंको booking को बारेमा call गरेकी हुँ। अहिले कुरा गर्न मिल्छ?
Beyond the hills

Communities across the north

Nepali speakers also live in parts of Assam, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh. They may be used to other languages too, so test your list.

Reminders

A good first job to try

A short payment reminder has a clear script and an obvious result, which makes it a sensible first test before you try harder calls.

How the agent soundsहुन्छ। म WhatsApp मा payment link पठाइदिन्छु।
No template

Write it with a native speaker

There is no Nepali template to begin from. Ask a native speaker from your own region to write the first script and listen to the first calls.

Conversation nuance

How to try Nepali sensibly

This language is newer on our platform, so treat your first calls as a test. These steps will show you quickly whether it fits your customers.

Respect has more than one level

"Tapai" is the safe business form, and "hajur" is more respectful still. "Timi" and "ta" are too familiar. Check every verb, because it changes with the pronoun.

Do not borrow a Hindi script

Nepali uses the same script as Hindi, and that makes it tempting. A script converted from Hindi will not sound right, so start fresh.

Plan for Hindi or English replies

Many customers in the hills also speak Hindi and English. The agent stays in Nepali unless you turn on Multilingual mode, which lets it follow them.

Set it in your script

Use "tapai" with customers. It is the respectful form. Test real calls before you rely on it. There is no ready-made template in Nepali yet.

Everywhere you call

Nepali travels with the call.

Inbound calls

A customer rings your number, and the agent picks up.

Web calls

A visitor talks from your website, with no phone needed.

Workflows

The next step runs from what was said on the call.

One agent speaking Nepali, with the script, the next step and the hand-over in one place.

Outbound calls

The agent rings your lead, within your calling hours.

Campaigns

A whole list, with each result saved on the contact.

Your team

Priya, this is Sunrise calling about your clinic appointment. Can we talk now?

Course enquiryExample

FAQ

Nepali questions, answered.

Which voice tiers speak Nepali?
Standard, Premium. What you can use also depends on your plan: Standard is on every plan, Ultra starts at Growth, Premium at Professional, and Ultra Premium is on Enterprise.
Are there ready-made Nepali agents?
Not yet. You can still set any agent to Nepali, write your own greeting, or describe the job to Build with AI.
Can the agent follow a customer who changes language?
Yes, if you turn on Multilingual mode for that agent. It then replies in the language the caller speaks. Without it, the agent stays in the language you chose.
Can we change the tone and questions of Nepali calls?
Yes. You set the greeting, questions, level of formality, objection handling, when to hand over, and which details to capture, for each agent.
How do I check the Nepali before customers hear it?
An agent takes test calls only until you press Go live. Call it yourself in your browser, ideally with a native speaker from your team, and adjust the script.
Does it connect to our CRM?
From the Growth plan, you can connect a CRM and your own WhatsApp or SMS account. Workflows decide what happens after each call, and you can test them first.
Can a person take over the call?
Yes. On Professional and Enterprise, the call can move to a person on the right desk with a private brief, and desks can have their own language.
