Voice AI basics

What voice AI is, and how it compares with what you may use today.

What is voice AI?
Software that holds a spoken conversation on a call. It hears what the caller says, works out what they mean, and answers out loud while the call is going on.
What is an AI voice agent?
A voice AI set up to do one job on your calls, such as checking a lead or reminding someone about a payment. It has a script, a language and a voice. It only knows what you give it. Build your first agent →
How is voice AI different from an IVR?
An IVR plays recordings and asks the caller to press a key. A voice agent lets the caller speak in their own words and answers them, so there is no menu to learn. It still works only from the script and information you set.
How is voice AI different from a chatbot?
A chatbot types. A voice agent talks on a phone call or a browser call, where pauses and interruptions matter. Our agents do not write chat messages. For text, you use the WhatsApp inbox and workflows.
How does voice AI compare with a call centre?
A call centre is people on shifts. An agent can take as many calls at once as your plan allows and follows the same script every time. People are better at judgement and hard conversations, which is why an agent can pass a call to your team on Professional and Enterprise.
Will it replace my telecallers?
We do not promise that. An agent can take repeat calls such as first contact, reminders and follow-ups. You still need people for difficult customers, for listening to calls and for improving the script.
Can it understand different accents?
Each agent listens in the language you set, but no system hears every accent perfectly. Test with people who sound like your callers: the Live Call Console shows what the agent heard. Standard voices can also take custom vocabulary for names and words it mishears.
Does voice AI work in Hinglish?
Yes. Hinglish is a language you can choose for an agent, on Standard, Premium and Ultra Premium. It means Hindi sentences with everyday English words such as plan, payment and EMI. About Hinglish →
Can a caller interrupt the agent?
Yes, if you want them to. Allow interruptions is a switch in the agent's settings, and the Ultra voice always lets callers cut in. A caller can speak over the agent and it stops to listen.
Will callers know they are talking to an AI?
The agent does not bring it up by itself. If a caller sincerely asks whether it is a real person, it says it is a virtual assistant and carries on helping. It never claims to be human, and your own script cannot change that. You can add your own opening line, and whether you must say more stays your responsibility.

Using AI Call Studio

How agents, teams, numbers and workflows fit together.

Do I need to write code?
No. In Agent Studio you can describe the job and let Build with AI design the agent, pick from ready-made templates, or start blank. A price is shown before Build with AI charges you. Read the guide →
Can agents handle inbound and outbound calls?
Yes. An agent answers the numbers you give it, rings contacts through a campaign or a workflow, and can take web calls from a button on your site.
What do Draft and Live mean?
A new agent is a Draft and takes test calls only, even if a number or campaign already points at it. Go live lets real customers reach it everywhere it is connected, at once. Every real call is then billed.
What is an AI team?
A coordinator who greets the caller, plus specialists it hands over to. The caller hears one continuous conversation. Teams are on Growth and above, and their minutes cost more than a single agent's. About AI teams →
How does an agent know about my business?
From its script, and from a knowledge base of files, typed text and website pages on Growth and above. For each question it reads the best-matching passages, not everything. If the answer is not in them, it will not say it. Nothing updates itself, so keep the documents current.
Can an agent do things during a call?
Yes. Built-in actions cover saving a lead, booking, a promise to pay, hand-over and ending the call. Tools let it look things up in your own systems. A tool runs only on the agents that have it.
Can an agent send a WhatsApp message during a call?
Only through a workflow with the trigger Agent sends during a call. The agent offers it, the caller agrees and the workflow sends it. WhatsApp and SMS accounts connect on Growth and above.
What do workflows do?
They run steps on their own when a contact arrives, a call ends or is missed, or a customer writes back. Workflows are on every plan, up to a limit per plan. Only an active workflow runs, and it does not go back over older contacts or calls. See the features →
Can I put an agent on my website?
Yes, on every plan. The Web Call Widget adds a button that opens a call in the browser. Anyone who can open your site can start a call, and each one is billed by the minute.
Do I need my own phone number?
Not to start. Without one, your AI agents call from shared numbers, with a lower limit on calls at once. Your own numbers are assigned by our team and pay monthly rent. Your staff need a number of their own to dial from the Workspace.

Languages

What the agents speak, and what to check before you rely on it.

Which languages can the agents speak?
English, Hinglish and 16 Indian languages: Hindi, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia, Urdu, Assamese, Nepali, Sindhi, Maithili and Konkani. See every language →
Does every voice tier speak every language?
No. Standard speaks 17, Premium speaks 16, Ultra speaks 10 and Ultra Premium speaks 13. Inside a tier, not every voice speaks all of them, so the agent editor shows what each voice speaks. Choose a voice tier →
Can an agent change language in the middle of a call?
Yes. Multilingual mode in the agent's settings makes it detect and reply in the language the caller speaks, and the fixed language is then ignored. Build with AI also has an Also understands list. Check the voice tier's languages first. About Multilingual mode →
Which languages are newer?
Assamese, Nepali and Sindhi are early: they still await a real-call and native-speaker check. Maithili and Konkani are marked beta in the product. Try these on your own callers before a full run.
Who checks the words an agent says in my language?
You should. Ready-made greetings in Indian languages show a warning until a native speaker has checked them. Have someone who speaks the language read the greeting, and edit it on the agent's page.
Are Hindi and Hinglish the same?
No. They are separate choices. Hindi speaks Hindi. Hinglish mixes Hindi with everyday English words, the way many business calls in cities sound. Hinglish is on Standard, Premium and Ultra Premium; Hindi is on Standard, Premium, Ultra and Ultra Premium.
Do you support languages from outside India?
No. We sell and support AI Call Studio in India only, in these 18 languages.

Pricing and billing

Every figure here is read from the same plans as the pricing page.

How does pricing work?
A monthly plan, from ₹999 a month, covers the platform and a set of included minutes. Past those, talk time comes from your wallet at the rate of the voice on the call. Prices exclude GST. See plans and rates →
What does each voice cost per minute?
From Standard ₹3.5, Premium ₹4, Ultra ₹7.25 and Ultra Premium ₹8.5 a minute for a phone call. Your workspace pays the rate of the voice each agent uses, so you can mix them.
Is there a free trial?
Yes: 50 calls or 50 minutes on the Standard voice, whichever runs out first, within 14 days of signing up. When it ends you pick a plan to keep calling. Adding money to the wallet does not extend it.
How are minutes counted?
There are no pulses. Talk time runs from when the customer answers and is metered to a hundredth of a minute, with a 6-second minimum on a connected call. Ringing is not billed. The free trial takes whole minutes, rounded up per call.
Do I pay for a call nobody answers?
It is not charged as a minute, but it can carry a small fee, from ₹0.88 on current plans. The Start dialog on a campaign says how much on your plan.
How do included minutes work on a dearer voice?
Included minutes are Standard minutes, used by value. A minute on a dearer voice uses more than one, and a cheaper web or staff minute uses less. Unused ones do not carry over when your plan renews.
What is charged on top of minutes?
Your own numbers beyond your plan's allowance, ₹600 a month each. Extra call lines, ₹1,000 a month each. The knowledge base, ₹0.25 for each billed minute of a call that uses it. Post-call analysis, ₹0.53 a call. Other paid AI work is listed with its price on the pricing page. See every extra →
Are test calls free?
No. A test call runs the real agent and is billed at the web-call rate, from ₹2.5 a minute, from when it connects until you press End. During the trial it comes out of your trial minutes.
What does a team on one call cost?
More than a single agent: from ₹3.75 a minute. On Standard and Ultra each teammate has its own voice. On Premium and Ultra Premium the team shares one.
What does a call by my own staff cost?
From ₹1.5 a minute, once the customer answers. That is the staff-call rate, with no AI on the call. On a handed-over call, the AI's minutes are at the voice rate and your person's minutes are at the staff rate.
Is GST included?
No. GST at 18% is added when you pay for a plan or a top-up, and you see the amount first. A top-up amount is what lands in your wallet.
What happens when the wallet runs out?
Calls stop. A call running at that moment wraps up. If a charge is bigger than your balance, the rest is owed, and your next top-up settles it first. Check Billing & Usage before a big run.
Is there a contract or autopay?
There is no minimum term. Autopay is on by default when you buy a plan: the fee plus GST is charged each month until you turn it off on the Plan tab. Unused wallet balance is not refundable, except where the law requires it. Read the terms →

Hand-over and your team

When the AI passes a call to a person, and what your staff do.

Can the AI pass a call to a person?
Yes. On Professional and Enterprise, an agent can ring several people in turn, a free telecaller or a desk, with a private brief. On other plans it can hand over to one number. Set up hand-over →
When does it hand over?
You choose. The rules include: they ask for a person, they are upset or complaining, they need something the agent cannot do, or they are qualified and ready. You can add a rule of your own in plain words.
What is a desk?
A group of your staff who take calls an AI hands over, with its own hours, language and routing. A desk changes nothing until a hand-over list has an A desk step, or a number is given to it.
What happens if nobody is free?
With a queue, the caller waits with hold music and hears their place in line, and the first person free takes whoever has waited longest. Past the time limit, the next step on your list runs.
Does the customer have to repeat themselves?
Not if you use Brief them privately first. Your person hears a short summary before they join, and you can text them a call card as well.
What is the Workspace?
The screen your staff use to go Available, take hand-overs, dial customers and save outcomes. It comes with hand-over on Professional and Enterprise, and each plan has a limit on staff on the call floor. Start the Workspace →
Can a supervisor listen to a live call?
Yes, on Professional and Enterprise. Live Calls lets you listen, whisper to your team member and take over. Opening a call only listens: the caller hears you only when you press Take over.
Can my staff practise before real calls?
Yes, once someone gives them Practice calls in Team Members. An AI customer calls them on the same screen, with a made-up account. It never rings anyone and never counts in call reports.
Who can see what?
There are four roles: Owner, Admin, Manager and Telecaller. Each person can be set to their own data, their team's or everyone's. A Telecaller sees only their own calls and contacts unless you widen it.

Quality and reporting

How you find out what happened on your calls, and make the next ones better.

Can I read and hear every call?
Call Logs holds each call with its transcript and score. Recordings need call recording, on Growth and above, switched on for that agent. Make your calls better →
Are calls recorded by default?
No. Call recording is off until you switch it on for an agent. Recordings are kept for your plan's period: 30 days on Growth, 90 days on Professional and 365 days on Enterprise. A notice is spoken at the start of a recorded call, unless you turn off Announce call recording.
What is Call QA?
It grades finished calls against your scorecard and policies, and queues the ones a person should hear. It is on Professional and Enterprise. You pick what gets graded: Automatic, Risky calls, On demand or Off.
What is the Simulation Lab?
It rehearses an agent or team against AI-played customers in text, and grades each practice call. No number is dialled. A pass is a good sign, not a guarantee, so try a real test call afterwards. It is on Professional and Enterprise.
How do I test an agent before it goes live?
Talk to it yourself in the Live Call Console. On every plan, write test suites in its Evals tab with what a caller might say and what a good reply must contain. Add to tests turns a real call into a test.
What is call scoring?
Rules you set score each call and mark it High, Medium or Low. It is on Growth and above, and short calls and test calls get no score. Check that your High leads really do convert better.
What is Intelligence?
It adds up what callers asked, objected to and felt on the calls that were read, and lists questions nobody could answer. It is on Professional and Enterprise. Its numbers describe only the calls that were read, not all your calls.
Does AI grading cost extra?
Paid AI work can run On demand, so nothing is charged until someone asks. Automatic runs it on every answered call and charges each time. You choose in Call Settings. The cost is shown before a bulk run.
Are AI grades always right?
No. They are the AI's judgement. Reviewers can agree or change a grade, your staff can dispute one, and calibration lets your team compare scores. Listen to a sample yourself.
What reports do I get?
Analytics covers connects, timing, hand-overs and campaigns. The Call Detail Report lists every call as a phone record. Scheduled Reports email a summary on every plan.

Integrations

What connects, what each connection does, and which plan it needs.

Which CRMs can I connect?
Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Odoo, eBhaya and NeoDove, plus Zapier and Slack, on Growth and above. A call's outcome and summary go to the CRM, and new leads can come in through its new-lead webhook. Connect your CRM →
How do leads get in?
Through a CSV file, Google Sheets, Facebook and Instagram lead forms or by hand, in Contact Sources. A sheet keeps coming in only if you switch on the hourly read. Numbers are matched, so importing one again updates the person.
Do I use my own WhatsApp and SMS accounts?
Yes. WhatsApp and SMS connect on Growth and above, email on Professional and Enterprise, and calendars on Enterprise. One account of each kind per workspace. WhatsApp's 24-hour rule applies: outside it you send an approved template.
Is there an API?
Yes, on Growth and above. A key can add and read contacts, read calls and reports, and place calls if you allow it. Signed webhooks post call and campaign events. A sandbox key reads but never writes. Read the docs →
Does Connected mean it works?
Not yet. Connected only means the details are saved. Press Test on the row: a pass shows as Verified. Some providers cannot be tested without sending a real message, and those say so.
Can I keep recordings on my own server?
Yes. Recording Sync copies them to your own SFTP, FTPS or FTP server on a schedule. It is on Professional and Enterprise. Your recordings stay with us as well. Plain FTP sends the password and the audio unencrypted.
What if my tool is not listed?
Use the API and webhooks, or Zapier, or tell us what you need. On Enterprise we can build a custom integration. Ask us →

Trust and data

What the product enforces, and what stays your responsibility.

When can calls be placed?
Between 9 am and 9 pm IST. That is a hard limit you cannot widen, and a call outside it is not placed: it waits. Agents from collections templates use 9 am to 7 pm. Each agent can have narrower hours, and a narrower window for the whole workspace is a Compliance control on Professional and Enterprise.
How does the Do-Not-Call list work?
A number on your list is never dialled, on every plan, whatever a campaign or workflow says. It is not messaged either. On Professional and Enterprise you can switch on Capture opt-outs automatically, so a caller who says stop is added after the call.
Do you check the national Do-Not-Disturb registry?
No. National registry checks are not built in. They stay your responsibility, with your own consent records and your sector's rules.
Where is my data processed?
We do not promise that all processing stays in India. Some speech and AI services we use run outside India. The subprocessors page describes them by category. See subprocessors →
Can I hide customers' numbers from my staff?
Yes, on every plan. Masking hides numbers on screens and in downloads, by role. A number spoken on a call is still heard in the recording. Your staff can still ring a masked number without seeing it.
What about card numbers and OTPs said on a call?
Stored transcripts have secrets such as card numbers, CVVs, OTPs and PINs removed. A recording, where you have one, still holds what was said aloud, so do not ask callers to read these out.
Can one customer see another's data?
No. Every record belongs to one workspace, and queries are limited to it. Connection keys are stored encrypted. Each download of recordings is logged against the person who took it.
Can your staff see my account?
Support can sign in when needed. Each time is listed under Support access in your Account settings, with why and when it ended, and there is an audit log.
Can I export or delete my data?
Yes. Data Management downloads contacts and calls, and erases them when you ask. Erase cannot be undone and there is no recycle bin, so download what you need first.
Do you sign a DPA? Do you hold certifications?
A Data Processing Agreement is available for your review. This site claims no security certification. If you need one for your review, ask us what we can show you. Read the DPA →

Getting started

The shortest way from here to a first real call.

How do I start?
Press Start free and confirm the code we email you. You get 50 trial calls and 50 trial minutes on the Standard voice. You may be asked to verify the owner's mobile before calling. Then build one agent and try it in the Live Call Console. Build your first agent →
Can I try it before signing up?
Yes. The live demo lets you talk to our own agent in your browser, with no account. Allow your microphone and tap to talk. Try the live demo →
What should I prepare?
One clear job for the agent, what it should say, the answers it needs (a price list or FAQ), and a small list of contacts who expect the call. Read the go-live checklist before you ring anyone. Get ready to go live →
Which voice should I start with?
The trial runs on Standard, so start there and listen. Move up only if you can hear the difference on your own calls. You choose the voice per agent, and a change applies from the next call. Hear the voices →
How big should my first campaign be?
Small. Set Max contacts low, listen to a few calls, fix what you hear, then scale. Every answered call is billed, so a mistake in the script costs less on a short list. Run your first campaign →
What happens when the trial ends?
Calls stop until you choose a plan. Adding money to the wallet does not extend the trial. You can compare plans before then on the pricing page. Compare plans →
Can someone walk me through it?
Yes. Book a demo and we will go through your use case with you. You can also call or message us from the contact page. Book a demo →
