Glossary

The language of
AI calling.

Plain-English definitions of the terms you'll meet when you put your calling on autopilot. No jargon, no fluff.

The basics

Start here.

AI voice agent

Software that speaks with your customers on a call like a person would: it listens, understands, replies in real time, and follows your script.

Voice pipeline

The stack that turns speech into a natural reply, fast. AI Call Studio offers four quality tiers. See voices →

Agent team

One lead agent plus specialists who handle a single call together, in one voice, so the caller never repeats themselves. Learn more →

Web-call widget

An embeddable button that lets website visitors talk to your agent in the browser, with no phone number needed.

Hinglish

The natural Hindi-English code-mix Indians actually speak on the phone. Agents talk it, not textbook translations, and switch across 12 Indian languages.

On the call

What happens live.

Barge-in

The caller can interrupt the agent mid-sentence and it responds immediately, just like a real conversation.

Latency

How long the agent takes to reply after the caller stops speaking. Lower is more natural; the best tiers reply in real time.

Transcript

The written record of everything said on the call, captured live, for review, scoring and audit.

Sentiment

Whether the caller sounds positive, neutral or negative, detected during the call to gauge how it is going.

Disposition

The outcome label for a call, such as interested, callback, not interested or confirmed, set automatically at the end.

Leads & outcomes

Turning calls into pipeline.

Lead scoring

Automatically classifying each contact as hot, warm or cold from the conversation, so your team calls the best leads first.

Promise-to-pay

A captured commitment from a customer to pay by a date, recorded on collections calls for follow-up.

COD confirmation

Calling to verify a cash-on-delivery order and address before dispatch, to cut fake orders and returns.

RTO

Return to origin: an order that comes back undelivered. Confirming COD before dispatch reduces it.

Reaching people

Inbound and outbound.

Outbound campaign

Calling a list of contacts at scale on a schedule, with agents dialing many numbers in parallel.

Auto-dialer

The system that places outbound calls automatically so agents spend time talking, not dialing.

Inbound routing

Sending incoming calls to the right agent or team based on your greeting and rules.

SIP trunk

A way to connect phone calls over the internet. Bring your own trunk or carrier for inbound and outbound. Integrations →

Voicemail / AMD

Answering-machine detection: recognising when a machine picks up so the agent can leave the right message or retry.

Compliance

Calling by the rules.

DND

Do Not Disturb: registries of numbers that must not receive promotional calls. The platform honours them. Security →

Consent disclaimer

A spoken notice, in the caller's language, that the call may be recorded, played before the conversation begins.

Calling window

The permitted hours for certain calls, such as RBI-compliant hours for collections. Calls run only inside them, automatically.
